American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Frisco is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Frisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

These are the most wonderful donuts my family has ever had! We love going into the Frisco location multiple times a week. The owners are amazing chefs and are always coming up with new ideas I have never seen anywhere else. The service is fantastic!

I’ll start with the good: La Rue’s doughnuts are exceptional. Truly spectacular. An easy 5 stars, and in my opinion, there isn’t even a close second place in Frisco. Thank you for opening here. You have an outstanding product. That said, I’d like to offer a few observations that I hope the owners take as constructive feedback from someone who genuinely wants to see this place thrive. 1) Adjust production to actual demand. Making roughly equal quantities of every flavor doesn’t make much sense when certain customer favorites are consistently selling out much faster than others. Yes, you may eventually sell out of everything, but if the same 2–3 flavors are gone within two hours of opening, that’s useful information. Make more of what customers are clearly asking for. 2) The coffee operation is creating a bottleneck. I completely understand the additional revenue coffee generates, but the current ordering process creates a logjam for the entire operation. It’s already a small, cramped space, and coffee orders slow the line enough that customers routinely end up half inside and half outside while waiting. The doughnut transaction itself should be quick and simple, but the current

This is my first La Rue visit, I'm beyond impressed. The doughnut texture is amazing across all types (even the gluten free), and the croissant is perfectly crisp with a soft interior without flaking into a million pieces. The flavors are incredible and well thought out, nothing is too sweet. I also love that they fry in beef tallow, and you can tell they use the best of the best ingredients. I am so excited to have a location closer to me and will definitely be back to try more.

I love this place. I would frequent the Dallas location often and now they are right down the street. The donuts have an incredible depth of flavor and their savory options are ridiculously good. I love that they are fried in tallow. This place will be my go to from here on out.

I’ll be honest, the donuts tasted good and had a fluffy texture. But the one thing that made it insufferable was the donut smell. I knew beforehand that these donuts are fried in beef tallow but I didn’t excpect it to majorly effect the smell. It was just hard to eat it. The atmosphere was ok, I won’t say too much because they are new, but it could’ve been better. Another thing I ordered was the churro cruller. First bite was good until I realized it was barely cooked. I could tell it was sort of raw on the inside so I couldn’t continue eating. I’ll end it off by saying prices were good, donuts TASTED good, and service was okay.
